Giga Computers offers recycling services that allow you to
choose whether to recycle or resell your old or outdated computer equipment.
Fast, affordable, and easy to use, the service provides you with a safe and
environmentally friendly method to recycle or dispose of your used computer
equipment. This includes desktops, notebooks, servers, storage, networking,
monitors, printers and computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice.
Giga Computers offers you two solutions for disposing of
your used computer equipment: -
Value Recovery - Recover value from used equipment.
Value gained from the sale of the used equipment will be returned to you.
Recycling - Recycle used equipment that has no resale
value. (Note: In general, we do not pay for equipment that is more than 3
years old.)
Both services include transportation, flexible logistics,
equipment disposition and data destruction.
Giga Computers Recycling offers multiple levels of data
destruction. A disk format is performed as standard on all on working
systems collected. If additional data destruction is required, there are
three service levels depending on customers' needs:
- Level 2: Three pass read/write using Norton G
Disk equivalent.
- Level 3: Seven pass read/write using Norton G
Disk or equivalent.
- Level 4: Physical disk destruction.

- Giga Computers will arrange to pick up
the equipment at your home for a flat fee of $15 plus $14 per
item* in CBD areas or $15.50 if you are more than 20 km from your
Auckland city*.
*You can also take your PC to one of two drop off points in
Auckland and for $30.50 per unit.
- *A PC with monitor is 2 units. Volume
discounts apply.

Is there a cost to me to recycle my

Yes if you computer is older than 3 years, The cost covers
pickup, shipping to the recycling centre, and recycling of the
equipment (including data destruction).

from any manufacturer including white-box. Products include
desktops, laptops, monitors and printers. |

Where and when will equipment be picked
up from? |

Computers will arrange to pick up the equipment at your home or
your place of business, for example a storeroom, loading dock or
other central location. Pick-ups are available during business
hours Monday to Friday. |

Drop-off is available during business hours Monday - Friday,
however booking and pre-payment are essential, please contact

What value can I recover from my pc? |

In general, we do not pay for computer equipment
that is more than 3 years old. Some late model equipment does
retain a resale value, for example:
- a desktop PC with an 833Ghz Intel
Pentium III CPU, 128MB memory, 20Gb hard disk drive, CD
drive and no monitor is valued at around $30*.
- a desktop PC with a 1.3Ghz Intel
Pentium IV CPU, 256MB memory, 30Gb hard disk drive, CD
drive and 17 inch display is valued at around $110*.
* Prices are estimates based on market values as at July
2005. Please ask for more information and new prices.

hardware has been shipped, it cannot be returned to you. By
participating in this service and giving your hardware to the
carrier, you have relinquished your rights to the hardware. |
